Objectives of the Sailing Smack Association

To represent and protect the interests of owners and users of smacks described here as working or ex-working sailing fishing boats
To make itself aware of and understand legislation that may affect smacks
To develop and maintain constructive links with other relevant bodies
To encourage research into the vessels and their historical uses
To foster traditional boat handling and seamanship
To co-ordinate events in order to avoid clashes
